From The Berlin Summer University of the Arts at UdK, the exhibition NOW WHERE temporarily transforms the space of the Atelierhaus Mengerzeile m3 into not only a display of art, but a studio and interactive spatial work in itself. A diverse group of international, cross-disciplinary artists have collaborated to create site-specific works in response to m3’s history and the ongoing threat of erasure to the arts by profit-motivated entities in Berlin and around the world. Through a spatial and temporal exploration of m3, the exhibition unites global perspectives of gentrification within a local context, highlighting the vital importance of artists continuing to take up space. Join us in solidarity from 6—10 pm (with an artist discussion at 7.30pm) for a celebration of Atelierhaus Mengerzeile’s legacy and artistic perseverance.
